Greater Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church Founded in March 1896, designated a historic site by the City of Miami in 1988 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992, Greater Bethel African Methodist Church is one of the oldest churches in Miami. The first structure was simple, with a dirt floor. The present building, designed by John Sculthorpe in 1943, is one of the most imposing structures in Overtown. |

Historic Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church Mount Zion, founded in 1896 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1988, served as a meeting place for Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and was also one of the first meeting places for the Boy and Girl Scouts. |
Historic St. Agnes Episcopal Church Built in the 1940s by Black Bahamian Anglicans, Saint Agnes Episcopal Church is one of Miami’s oldest and largest churches. It was designated a historic site by the City of Miami in 2003. |
New St. John Institutional Missionary Baptist Church Founded in 1906, the New St. John Institutional Missionary Baptist Church was built in 1940 and designed by McKissack and McKissac. It has hosted the National Baptist Convention four times and maintained a radio program from 1977 through 1980. |
