Historical Note: Herbert "Herbie" C. Biggs (Herbert Cherberte Biggs/Herbert Biggs) (b. 1917) was a Bahamian immigrant and naturalized US citizen who became the first Black bicycle messenger for Western Union Telegraph Company. He was well known in Miami by local residents as well as the famous visitors who he delivered telegrams to, including John Wayne and Al Capone. The record contains documents from the 1940s to the 2000s.
