For more than 41 years, Rev. Dr. Jimmie L Bryant and Estella King-Bryant have faithfully served the South Florida community. Mrs. Bryant has been employed with Mercy Hospital for more than 41 years, is a Certified Registered Nurse, and currently serves as an Administrative Supervisor. Dr. Bryant has been a Baptist Minister for 41 years; currently entering his 32nd year serving as pastor of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church of Liberty City, and is a Business Education and Mathematics Instructor with Miami Dade County Public Schools. Pastor and Mrs. Bryant have formed a great team in ministry and have been called upon to serve and share in immeasurable ways in the community. The couple beams with pride when reflecting on the success of their organization, "BOAZ CDC" which feeds, clothes, counsels, mentors and helps Liberty City residents. This was a dream of Dr. Bryant, who was led to do something to give back to his community. "Biblically, BOAZ was the kinsman redeemer; teaching us that we are obligated to do our part to help others," shared Dr. Bryant, "our church members, along with coordinators Betty Harrell, Theresa Jones and Charlie Mitchell, volunteer their services throughout the year." Annually, BOAZ CDC has assisted more than 15 thousand people.
Pastor and Mrs. Bryant believe there is no greater love than that of their congregation, made up of approximately 150 church members and comprised of youth and elderly supporters. One of their signature projects, the Clothes Closet, is the creation of Mrs. Bryant, and is considered a Godsend because of its enormous impact to those in need. Estella King Bryant, a native of Alabama, was born in Midway, Bullock County, has earned multiple degrees from Miami-Dade College, Florida International University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in nursing; and, received a Master in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Thomas University. Dr. Jimmie Bryant, a native Miamian, was raised in the heart of the James E. Scott Projects. Dr. Bryant has a Bachelor of Science from Florida Memorial University, Master of Religious Education from International Seminary, and, Doctorate from Smith Chapel Bible College in Leadership and Church Administration. He is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity. Both are very active in Ecclesiastical and Civic Organizations, and are members of the NAACP and the Local, State and National Baptist Conventions.
