Historical Note: Between 1957-1961 Maude Reid was a Guest Columnist for The Pittsburgh Courier; she wrote the column "Miami Social Whirl." She was Chairman of Frank C. Martin Elementary School P.T.A. in 1958. She was Supervisor of home economics classes of the Division of Vocational, Technical and Adult Education for the Dade County public schools in 1965. She was also Coordinator for the Negro Adult Vocational Home Economics Training Program in the Dade County School System and later became County wide supervisor.
