Scope and Contents: The Lyric Theater records contains information on the reconstruction of historic Overtown's Lyric Theater initiated by The Black Archives, as well as materials relating to The Black Archives's administration of the theater.  The Black Archives obtained National Register of Historic Places status for the building in 1988 and began restoration in 1989.  It was reopened in March, 2000.
