About Membership
Membership in The Black Archives History and Research Foundation of South Florida is your opportunity to celebrate and preserve the significant contribution people of color have made to South Florida. Your financial support also enables The Black Archives to maintain our Archives Collection as a repository of our collective culture, support the restoration and economic development of the Miami Overtown Community, and develop and present history and heritage educational curricula and public programs. Through your membership support – at every level – you make it possible for The Black Archives to preserve and promote South Florida’s African American History.
In addition to helping preserve and promote the history of black South Florida, members receive The Black Archives quarterly newsletter, “The Lion’s Story,” recognition in “The Lion’s Story,” early notification of events, and invitations to members-only events.
Our active membership runs annually from February 1st to January 31st. Our early bird renewal and new membership registration starts on December 1st of each year. All new memberships prior to December 1st will be credited to the current membership year.
